元々は1974年頃に書かれたミドル・テンポのバラード曲であったが、アルバム『Back To The Egg』の雰囲気に合わすため、アップテンポのロックにアレンジし、さらに未完成の中間部分を削って完成させた。
ベーシック・トラックのレコーディングは、ロッケストラ・セッションが行われた次の週である1978年9月に、アビーロード・スタジオで行われた。その後1979年3月に、スコットランドのレプリカ・スタジオにて、重厚感を出すためのメロトロンによるオーケストラ部分と、ポールによる数本のギターがオーバーダブされた。
当初は、デニー・レインがサビを歌い、ポールがメロ部分を歌うことによってボーカルを分け合った構成としたが、最終的にアルバム『Back To The Egg』に収録されたバージョンは、ポールが全編にわたってボーカルを取っている。
当初アルバムの３曲目に収録する予定であったが、結局はアルバムの導入曲「Reception」の直後の２曲目に収録されることとなった。
アルバム『Back To The Egg』からのセカンドシングルとして発売されたが、全英60位、全米20位とヒットしなかった。
シングルのＢ面は、イギリスと日本では「Spin It On」、アメリカでは「Baby's Request」。
アルバム『Back To The Egg』発売直後のウィングス全英ツアーで、この曲をレパートリーに取り入れ、ライブで演奏している。
この曲のプロモーション・ビデオが、アルバム『Back To The Egg』に収録されている他の曲とともに制作された。プロモーション・ビデオの監督はキース・マクミランで、1979年秋頃に、アルバムのレコーディングを行ったLympne城などで、他の曲と共に3日間かけて行われた。プロモーション・ビデオは、シンプルなスタジオライブに、ウィングスのメンバーがトラックに乗って運転している映像が重なるというもので、スタジオ・ライブ部分で、ポールはこの時期にしては珍しくリッケン・バッカーノベースを弾いているのは注目に値するであろう。

Daytime Nightime Suffering

アルバム『Back To The Egg』のセッションでレコーディングされたポップなナンバーで、シングル「Goodnight Tonight」のＢ面として発表され、アルバム『Back To The Egg』にはボーナストラックとして収録されている。
Ｂ面ながら、ファンには人気の高い曲で、Ａ面として発売するべきとの声が多かった。ポールは1987年のインタビューで、ビートルズ時代の曲を含めて、この曲が一番気に入っていると答えている。そのため、ベストアルバム『Wingspan』にも収録されている。
レコーディングは、1979年1～2月に、ポール・マッカートニーの音楽出版を手がける会社ＭＰＬのロンドンにあるオフィスの地下に作られた、アビーロード・スタジオの第２スタジオをそっくりそのまま模倣して作ったスタジオ「Replica Studio」で行われた。ミキシングは2月に同じ場所で、24トラックテープを用い、49回も行われたという。
ポールの息子ジェームスが、鳴き声で参加している（2分3秒のところで聞こえる）。
「この曲は女性賛美歌なんだ。"What does she get for all of this?"（彼女はこの代償として何を手に入れるんだろう？）という歌詞に対して、"Daytime Nightime Suffering"（昼も夜も悩み続ける）なんだ。女性の苦境ってとこだね。この曲が女性賛美にメリットがあろうとなかろうと、この曲は単なるポップソングなんだ。それだけ。」（ポール）

The Broadcast

ポールが作曲したクラシック風のＢＧＭに乗せて、詩の朗読が行われるという一風変わった形の曲。
アルバム『Back To The Egg』のレコーディングの行われたリンプ城で、ポールがメロトロン、ピアノ、ギズモ（10ccのゴドレー＆クリームが考案した楽器）を弾いたものがＢＧＭとして使われた。
詩の朗読は、リンプ城の所有者であるマーガリーが行っており、朗読された詩は Ian hay作「The Sport Of Kings」と John Galsworthy作「The Little Man」。
なお当初この曲は、アルバム『Back To The Egg』の冒頭の曲「Reception」の中で、ラジオから流れる放送の１つとして使われ、そのバージョンではさらに A.P.Herbert作「The Poodle And The Pug」も朗読されている。そのバージョンは、以下のブートで聴くことができる。

Baby's Request

1940年代ジャズ・バラード風の曲。ポールは1978年の夏に休暇で南フランスを訪れ、そこで見たミルズ・ブラザーズの演奏に触発されて、その次の日にこの曲を書いたと言われている。最初はミルズ・ブラザーズにこの曲をプレゼントするつもりだったが、ポールは、子供に勧められて自らこの曲をウィングスとして録音し、出来がよかったので、当初アルバムに収録される予定だった「Cage」に取って代わって、アルバム『Back To The Egg』に収録された。
元ナショナル・ユース・ジャズ・オーケストラのメンバー、ローレンス・ジューバーのジャジーなギターが聴き所。
この曲のプロモーション・ビデオも制作されており、イギリス軍隊の慰問団に扮したウィングスが曲全編を通して一つのカメラアングルから撮影されている。ビデオでは、リンダウッド・ベース、デニーレインがピアノ、ポールがボーカルに徹している。
ちなみに、この曲のアウトテイクは発見されていない。

ポールがロックへの回顧をテーマとして制作したコンセプト・アルバム『Back To The Egg』からの曲。ムーグ・シンセとブラスを主体とした不思議な感じのする曲である。
アメリカと日本でシングル発売され、1979年10月13日付けビルボード・ヒットチャートで29位まで上昇。日本では「来日記念盤」とラベルされて発売されたが、皮肉にもコンサートが中止になったのは承知のところ。シングルのB面は「Old Siam, Sir」。シングル発売されたので、プロモビデオも作成された。
1979年のイギリス・ツアーでも演奏された曲である。この曲のラフ・ミックス等のスタジオ・アウトテイクは数種類存在し、ブートで聴くことができる。
